  • Inspected vehicle and scanned vehicle systems for fault codes. Found fault codes P1417 – cylinder 7 reactivation control performance, P1414 – cylinder 4 reactivation control performance, P0175 – fuel system rich bank 1 & bank 2 and P0300 – multiple cylinder misfire. Found 3 fuel injectors unpluged. Reconnected fuel injectors and exhaust started to clear up. Cleared fault codes and test drove vehicle. All fault codes came back immediately on test drive. Pulled spark plug from cylinder 1. Spark plug is fouled. Recommend start with pulling intake manifold and deactivation solenoids to test solenoid operation.
  • Removed intake manifold and deactivation solenoids. Solenoids all passed test and have the correct ohms of resistance. Found intake manifold had oil and gas mixture in it. While cleaning oil and gas mixture from intake manifold found pieces of metal falling out of intake. Inspected the inside of intake manifold. Intake has pieces of metal through out is. Vehicle will need the engine assembly replaced.
